Time For An Update!

I've been a little behind in my posting.  I know you have been on the edge of your seats waiting for an update because my life is oh so...how do you say it? Riveting.

Not at all, y'all.  Things have been pretty uneventful.  Holidays are shuffling in and shuffling out quicker than I can drag out the decorations for!  Tis the season and I am very much loving it.  I especially love all the smells-- pumpkin spice, cinnamon, fresh rolls baking, making new treats and old faithfuls....such a great time of the year.

Two weekends ago we made a small road trip with our biggest little-- Mr. Jackson.  We trekked to Oxford, MS to watch the Tech Bulldogs take on the Rebels.  See, Oxford is where I was born.  I don't really call it my hometown because I have been in Ruston since I was 13 and I really feel a strong connection toward it.  Oxford, though, does have a lot of sentiments and memories attached to it and I just love going back.  Nick nor the boys have been so it was a great excuse to hit the road!  The town is just so Pleasantville-like, y'all.  Especially downtown and the Square.  And once you hit the Grove you realize a few things and you might even say some of the following--

"Are those real chandeliers?"

"How in the world did they run the lighting for all of that?"

"White linens and fine china, are they for real? I thought SOLO was fancy."

"Gosh, am I under-dressed?"

"I didn't realize people hired people to serve at tailgate parties, did y'all?"

Fancy.  Real fancy. Oh and let's not forget glamorous.  And it really is fun to watch all of this, because it's just not that way in our Tailgate Alley.  But, oh how I love our Tailgate Alley!  It's just neat to see how other people do it.

Anyway, we had a blast starting off the weekend visiting our closest family friends- The Randles (Austin's middle namesake).  We are so blessed to have them in our lives and it was so good to reconnect with them.  Plus, Dr. Tom can grill the best rib-eye ever. Yum.  Saturday we hit downtown pretty hard and were able to catch up with some precious people at Soulshine Pizza (Awesome pizza and very kid friendly).  It was great seeing Katie Hall and Suzanne Tyler during the weekend too.  Oh how I miss my girls!

We then headed to our tailgate for Tech where Jackson completely passed out...at 4 o' clock in the afternoon.  He was done, y'all.  He perked up for maybe all of 10 minutes to scarf down some cotton candy at the game and then he was out again.  See Exhibit A--

And B...

And then finally Exhibit C-
We were so blessed, though, because the stands were packed with Louisiana Tech fans except for right beside us.  So he was able to lay down comfortably...I guess.  People really didn't even notice him. A little blanket burrito.  Well, he sure missed an exciting game.  Our hearts were so proud and so excited to see Tech WIN!  And then for them to beat Nevada Saturday was even better! Bring it, New Mexico! We got this.  It was a great trip!

Last week brought Jackson's first Thanksgiving Feast-- He was so excited.

Nick and I dined in style with our little Pilgrim.  We are definitely very thankful for this little guy.  He brings so much joy into our lives.

Finally, we spent this weekend shopping for Christmas and kicking off the official turning-on of the Natchitoches Christmas lights.  It was a lot of fun and the boys had a blast.

YAY FOR A SHORT WORK WEEK! Hope y'all are getting geared up for some turkey.... :)
