Turkey Weekend Wrap-Up!

I have really got to get out of the habit of using my iPhone camera.

Not that the iPhone camera isn't great, but when you use it only to capture the tender moments of your  young children's lives you feel like your coming up a little short (in my opinion).  It just doesn't quite capture everything like our camera does.  By the way, I have been really thinking about getting a nice new fancy camera...like a Canon Rebel or a Nikon d60, but goodness gracious.  Quality don't come cheap.  We will see.

Back to the story at hand-- What's been up, y'all?

We are doing really good.  Engaging in lots of fun activities and of course running the roads like we do so well.

Having such a short work-week last week was Ahhh-mazing.  It was just what the doctor ordered and we had a blast with all of our family.

Our family-- Wow.  God has strategically and lovingly surrounded us with some of the most awesome and supportive family members.  Nick and I are surrounded by people who support us, challenge us, take care of us, FEED us, and just plain love on us all the time.  I am so incredibly thankful to the Lord for them.

Now, cue iPhone picture dump......

Nick and I getting ready for a Thanksgiving Feast!  Saying I am thankful for this man is an incredible understatement....I am OVER THE MOON (and like around Saturn and maybe to the next solar system) thankful and so in love with Nick and for what he does for our family. Yep, he's a keeper.

Ms. Susan and I decided to do a little tablescape.  Complete with fresh flowers, leaves (Thanks, Boys!), paper hand-print turkeys, and....
Mason jars with acorns and tea lights. So cute! We decided to bring a little outdoor in.  I thought they turned our perfect!
Our littlest turkey is not thrilled about sitting still to get his picture taken these days.  He is a month and a half away from being 2 (WHHHAAT?!) and Terrible-you-know-whats are starting to kick in.  But Lord love his sweet little heart..

And look at what Ms. Susan did-- Yeast rolls from scratch! They were perfect and yummy. We gobbled them up! I was so proud.  We had a lot of fun in the kitchen this Thanksgiving!!!
A little post-Thanksgiving feast playtime.  We had to lose the long-alls.  I think a combination of pink salad and turkey smashed on the front warranted the outfit removal.
Friday we had hopefully Part 1 of 2 our new annual Bake Day with my Mom and Sister.  We had so much fun and had too many things we wanted to bake that we had to call it quits a little early.  The kids needed naps.  Here is Austin hanging with his Meemee checking out some scrumptious Reese's Peanut Butter cookies.

We started off Saturday with intentions to make it to the Tech game, but something about handling two rambunctious toddlers in the wet and cold just did not sound appealing when we could listen to it from the comfort of a warm, dry house.  So that's exactly what we did.  Jackson helped his Gannie put up her Christmas village. He loved it! Such a sweet memory made between the two of them.

And I was feeling particularly crafty this weekend and continued the craftiness from Thursday to Saturday by creating a complete paper-jewelry (Is there a more manly word for jewelry?) for Jackson- It consisted of a charm bracelet that included skull and cross bones, ghost, vampire, and something else manly; a green stone ring, and a Mr. Roboto necklace.  It was real nice.  Daddy was proud of his jewelries...yeah, right.
We did have a little piece of the  awesome game that Tech won come to us, however.  The princes requested frozen lemonade from the game so Rikki came to the rescue and brought our boys a little treat.  Austin loved it.

Such a full and wonderful weekend in Ruston.  We left early Sunday and got home in time to get some Christmas decorations up.  I am so happy to say with the exception of $15 spent at Walgreens, I have not spent another cent on Christmas decor.  I reused everything, but did a different setup and I loved the way it turned out.

 Our Sweet Natchitoches abode...

25 Shopping Days until Christmas. WOW! How did that happen?  Jackson and Austin say, "HAVE A GOOD WEEK!"
